Barbells

A barbell is a straight or curved post with a ball or end on each side. Straight bars are standard for industrials, nipples and tongues; curved bars for navels, eyebrows, rooks and daiths. Circular barbells and horseshoes do the same job in a different shape.

Length is the number that matters and the one that changes. Fresh piercings are fitted long on purpose to allow for swelling; once that settles, the extra length becomes something to catch and lever on. Downsizing is the most underrated fix for comfort. Too short is the opposite problem — the ball presses into the tissue and can embed.

All our bars are internally threaded, meaning the post is smooth with a socket at each end and the ball carries the thread. Nothing sharp passes through the channel when you change ends. Threaded balls do work loose over time, so check them weekly and re-snug before bed if the piercing sits somewhere that gets knocked.

Everything here is implant-grade titanium, ASTM F-136. Industrials and nipples take 6 to 12 months to heal and navels 8 to 12, so material matters for the whole of that window. Browse 14G and 16G, or see replacement tops and ends.
