Collection: 14Kt Gold

Solid 14K gold is gold all the way through — not plated, not filled, not vermeil. That matters in a piercing, because plating wears, and once it does you are wearing whatever sits underneath.

This collection covers our solid gold pieces: nose studs and hoops, flat back labret studs, hinged hoops and threadless tops.

Solid 14K is one of three materials safe to wear in a piercing, alongside implant-grade titanium and niobium. It is stable against skin, it does not corrode, and it holds up indefinitely. 14K is 58.5% gold alloyed with other metals for hardness — enough alloy to be durable, little enough to stay safe for most people. If you have reacted to gold before, higher karat means less alloy.

Gold is heavier than titanium, which is worth knowing for anything hanging in cartilage all day. For a fresh or healing piercing, titanium is the lighter and cheaper option. Solid gold makes more sense once a piercing has settled and you want something permanent.
