• Why it’s the safest choice: It is 100% hypoallergenic and nickel-free. It is biocompatible, meaning your body accepts it rather than fighting it, which significantly reduces healing time and the risk of irritation bumps. It is also incredibly lightweight and corrosion-resistant.

The Classic Choice: 316L Surgical Stainless Steel

This is a very common and durable material used in body jewelry for decades. It is strong, looks great, and is a more budget-friendly option.

• Is it safe? Yes, for many people. However, it is important to know that 316L steel is an alloy that does contain a small amount of nickel.

• Who is it for? It is a great choice for fully healed piercings on people who do not have a nickel sensitivity.

• Who should avoid it? If you have a known metal allergy, sensitive skin, or a brand-new, unhealed piercing, we highly recommend choosing Titanium instead to avoid potential irritation.
