16G Hoops

16G is the standard gauge for cartilage, which makes it the size most ear hoops are made in — helix, conch, daith, rook, tragus and flat.

This collection is every hoop we carry in 16G: hinged clicker rings, seamless rings and huggie hoops, in plain, gem-set and opal finishes.

If you already know your gauge, this is the fastest way to shop. Gauge has to match exactly — a thinner 18G hoop sits loose in a 16G piercing, and a heavier gauge will not go in without stretching.

Diameter is the other number, and the one people get wrong. It is measured on the inside of the ring, so the hoop sits larger than its stated size. Thicker cartilage needs more inner diameter, not a heavier gauge. If yours leaves a mark or sits at an odd angle, it is sized wrong rather than the wrong style.

Cartilage takes 6 to 12 months to heal depending on placement, and hoops suit healed piercings better than healing ones — they rotate and drag through a channel that is still forming. Everything here is implant-grade titanium, ASTM F-136.
