Threadless Jewelry

Threadless is the most secure everyday jewelry you can wear, and it is what piercers reach for on fresh piercings. A short pin on the back of the top is bent slightly, and that bend springs against the inside of a hollow labret bar to lock it in place. No thread, so nothing to slowly unscrew while you sleep.

The bend is the whole mechanism, and it is normal to adjust it. If a top will not stay in, the pin is not bent enough — grip the very end, increase the curve slightly, and push it in while twisting. If it will not go in at all, you have bent it too far. Titanium takes a few adjustments.

One thing worth knowing: threadless is not a universal standard. Pin diameters and bar bores vary between manufacturers, and a top from one brand in a bar from another can feel like it fits while sitting a fraction loose. Our tops work with our labret bar.
