Nose

Nose jewelry is the most frequently replaced piece in body jewelry, mostly because it is the easiest to lose. Studs work loose overnight, screws get half-seated, and hoops catch on towels.

If yours keeps falling out, the style is usually the reason rather than bad luck. Screws and L-bends stay in by catching the inside of the nostril, and that grip fails the moment the jewelry rotates. A flat back labret stud has a disc that cannot pass back through the piercing, which is why piercers use them for fresh nostrils and why they are the most secure option here.

Gauge matters too. Most nostrils are 18G or 20G, and a piece thinner than your piercing sits loose in the channel and works its way out. A nostril heals in 3 to 6 months, and an empty hole can tighten within hours during that window — so keep a spare.
