Collection: Helix Earrings

The helix is the upper outer rim of the ear and the most pierced spot after the lobe. It is also the one people most often get wrong, because it heals far more slowly than it looks like it should.

This collection covers our helix jewelry: flat back labret studs, hinged hoops, seamless rings and threadless tops, all in 16G.

A helix takes 6 to 9 months to heal. During that window a flat back stud is the better choice — a hoop rotates and drags through a channel that is still forming, and that constant movement is one of the more common reasons a helix stays sore for months. Switch to hoops once it has settled.

Post length matters as much as gauge. Fresh piercings are fitted long to allow for swelling, and once that goes down the extra length catches on hair and levers every time you roll over. Downsizing is the most underrated fix for a helix that will not settle.

Everything here is implant-grade titanium, ASTM F-136 — nickel-free and light, which matters in cartilage where the jewelry hangs all day.
