Black Nose Rings

The black is a PVD finish over implant-grade titanium. PVD bonds the colour at high temperature, which makes it far more durable than plating — but it is still a coating, and what matters is the base metal underneath. Ours is ASTM F-136 titanium, so the piece stays safe in your piercing regardless of what the finish does over time.

That is the question worth asking of any black jewelry. Black over titanium is fine. Black over an unnamed alloy is a reaction waiting to happen once the coating wears through.

A nostril heals in 3 to 6 months. If yours is still healing, gauge and style matter more than colour — most nostrils are 18G or 20G, and a flat back labret is the style least likely to fall out.
