20G Threadless

20G is the thinnest gauge in common use and the most frequent starting size for a nostril. It is also standard for earlobes. It is not used in cartilage — a helix, conch or tragus needs 16G.

This collection is every threadless piece we carry in 20G: flat back labret bars and the push-pin tops that fit them, in plain, gem-set and opal finishes.

For a nostril, a threadless flat back is the most secure option available. Screws and L-bends stay in by catching the inside of the nostril, and that grip fails when the jewelry rotates — which is why they go missing. A flat disc cannot pass back through the hole.

Threadless holds by friction from a slightly bent pin. Nothing works loose overnight, and adjusting the bend is normal rather than a fault — if a top will not stay in, increase the curve slightly at the end of the pin.

Gauge has to match exactly. A 20G piece in an 18G piercing sits loose and works its way out, which is one of the most common reasons nose jewelry disappears.

Everything here is implant-grade titanium, ASTM F-136. A nostril heals in 3 to 6 months, a lobe in 1 to 2.
